5 Year Anniversary
In the first 5 years we celebrate that Salem State University is the first college to build a Campus Center. We also celebrate that the original college radio station, WSSC-AM begins broadcasting and the African-American Student Association is founded.

10 Year Anniversary
By 1976 the Women's Center was named for Florence H. Luscomb. Ms. Luscomb "championed the causes of women, blacks, working people and world peace" during her more than 82 years of activism.

Did you know hat by our 20th anniversary the Campus Center was formally dedicated to Dr. George H Ellison.

30 Year Anniversary
By the 30th anniversary, the former A & B lounge is renamed as the Martin Luther King Jr. Room, the first Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Week is celebrated, and the first Hispanic Heritage Month is held in 1995.

40 Year Anniversary
By the 40th anniversary, Veterans Hall was completely renovated, Program Council had welcomed Run DMC, Blessed Unions of Souls, and Dropkick Murphy's to campus and the 1st Women's Leadership Conference was held in 20016.

50 Year Anniversary
By our 50th anniversary the Ellison Campus Center has welcomed Greek life to campus, supported over 70 plus student organization events, hosted 10 Women's Leadership Conferences, 5 Leadership Conferences, 5 Hip-Hop Summits, and completed a study to renovate/expand our Ellison Campus Center.
