Salem State University Women's Lacrosse plays in the competitive Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC). Our conference is comprised of 8 teams throughout New England. Our Vikings have shown great success on and off the field over recent years.
Pertaining to the team's success off the field, the student-athletes representing this program are among the best academic performers on campus. Our team has maintained a high level of classroom achievement while also finding time to give back to the community. Our Lacrosse team has been involved with the Hospice Foundation, fundraising funds and walking for a cure. The Vikings also hosted a "Breast Cancer Awareness" game where funds were raised in support of the Foundation. In addition, the girls have participated in 5K Run's to support various foundations. SSU LAX also gives back to the community by hosting Free Youth Clinics & volunteering with local youth lacrosse programs.
With the drive to be the best and recruit the best, we need to provide the best in overall student-athlete experience to the young women who choose SSU. As the economy slowly recovers, we continue to face a lack of financial resources to help offer student-athletes the equipment and travel considerations that being a championship program require. Players are currently responsible for purchasing their own practice gear and warm-ups, and regularly supplement the travel per diem afforded by the department for meals. We are also limited in our travel outside of New England, as bus and hotel costs would increase the out of pocket hardship our players already face.
As we look forward to our coming season in the Spring of 2016, we look to raise funds for team practice gear (apparel & equipment) and for a preseason team trip opportunity. We thank you in advance for your donation- Your donation makes a huge difference. No donation is too little or too small. 100% of your gift will benefit the Women's Lacrosse Program and help to provide a well-rounded student-athlete experience.
THANK YOU!
