Celebrating Bruce Perry's 34 Years at Salem State University

Dr. Bruce Perry’s legacy at Salem State is defined by bold ideas, big wins, and unwavering commitment. He launched the university’s first semester‑long events calendar, stepped in repeatedly to keep student programs running, secured multiple top‑ranked PIF grants, and led major accreditation efforts as a primary writer, editor, and Co‑Chair. He founded the Leadership Institute, created the co‑curricular transcript, authored successful grants—including a $40,000 dual‑enrollment award—and helped deliver six virtual commencement ceremonies during COVID.

Across three decades, Bruce’s achievements shaped the student experience, strengthened institutional excellence, and left a legacy that will continue to guide Salem State for years to come.

Bruce's dedication to student success is reflected in his choice to have gifts in his honor benefit the Student Emergency Fund, which supports unexpected personal financial emergencies that endanger students' ability to complete their degrees.
