Study Abroad in Italy

In 2022, I realized my career dream and raised a record $50,000 to pay for 20 deserving Salem State University students to study abroad in Greece.  The experience was life-changing for all participants, and one which I will never forget.  I smile each time I think of the constant laughter coming from my students' hotel rooms, and I will soon have the honor of officiating the wedding of former study abroad students who were engaged in Delphi.

Upon our return from Greece, I was offered the opportunity to lead a study abroad program every Spring semester.  I immediately began fundraising for Paris, and my group traveled in March 2023.  Please see testimonials from what was yet another life-changing experience below.

I never thought that I would have the opportunity to travel to Paris while I was still in college. Shortly after arriving in Paris, I fell in love with the beautiful city and all that it had to offer.  Studying abroad has allowed me to become more independent, step out of my comfort zone, and learn more about who I am as a person.  Studying abroad is one of the best things I have done, as it has allowed me to make unforgettable memories and lifelong friends.

To My Study Abroad Family: From the mountains of Delphi to the depths of the Catacombs, you've been shoulders to cry on (and sleep on), walls to vent to, hands to hold, artists and students and muses and bodyguards and everything in between.  I had no idea how meaningful this Paris trip would turn out to be, but every day brought a new adventure along with the next reason to ruin my makeup.  And all of it is thank to you bunch of crazy Philosophy people.  I love you all.  Thank you for being you.  I am forever inspired by your strength and wisdom and ability to be endlessly silly.

My Study Abroad in Italy group has raised just over $2,000 so far between Crowdfunding and events at PZA, Flatbread, Bit Bar, and Chipotle, and on campus.   As you can see, we are not simply looking for handouts.  However, I would appreciate your help in extend this amazing opportunity to as many deserving students as possible.
