As a double grad, and a dedicated employee of the university of almost thirty years, she has even used her retirement celebration to encourage others to give to Salem State. “My experience here is why I give to Salem State and why I give often. It truly was transformative for me and my two boys. I will be forever indebted to the faculty who invested in me and my success.” One area dear to Eileen is the memorial scholarship that has been established in her sister's name.
In memory of her sister, Eileen and her family established the Marguerite Ellen O’Brien Memorial Scholarship Fund at Salem State University. The scholarship was started to remember the life of Marguerite, who was found in 2015 after having been missing for 30 years. To honor Marguerite and support Eileen and her family we encourage you to support this scholarship effort
Eileen's dream is to see this scholarship reach $100,000, which would provide $4,000 in annual support for a Salem State student on their path to excellence. She and her family are very motivated in this cause and have raised over $40,000 to date.
Let's show Eileen how much her steadfast devotion to Salem State means to our community and help her achieve what she has set out to do. Those of us who know Eileen know that she will likely accomplish this vision in due time, but it will mean a whole lot more knowing that this village that has supported her all along continues to "invest in her and her success".
Congratulations on your retirement, Eileen!
