Help us fight hunger on campus! We are students in the First Year Seminar class on Global Poverty and Charitable Giving at Salem State University. Our goal is to raise at least $600 for our university’s food pantry. The food pantry provides basic essentials such as food and toiletries to students who are unable to afford them for any reason.
Why do we want help? Hunger on-campus often goes unnoticed. Yet, many college students struggle with food security. In a study done by the Wisconsin HOPE Lab in 2018, 38% of SSU students said they were food insecure and 36% were housing insecure. Additionally, most students don’t even know about the food pantry. Help us spread awareness about hunger on-campus and make an impact in the lives of fellow students.
