Thank you for joining us on Thursday, March 7th for Race, Gender and Education: A Dialogue Linking Past and Present program hosted by the Charlotte Forten Committee. The photos from the event are now available for viewing on Flickr!
The B.E.E.S. and The Brotherhood are two programs focused on the success, growth and development of self-identified women and men of color through workshop and events centered on identity development, community building, mentorship, academic and professional development and more. These student organizations are using the Charlotte Forten room in Meier Hall for meetings and events.
The Salem State community came together on February 28, 2018 to dedicate the newly renovated conference room in Meier Hall in honor of Charlotte Forten.
Donation in honor of Charlotte's graduation year from Salem Normal School.
Charlotte was born in 1837 and died in 1914- she dedicated the 77 years of her life to social justice and equity.
Salem Normal School was founded in 1854. 2019 marks the 165th birthday of Salem State.
